How to Become a Member

The International Society of Hypertension (ISH) welcomes applications for membership from individuals working in the field of hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Benefits of membership include an annual subscription to the Journal of Hypertension, and reduced registration fees at the biennial Scientific Meetings.

To become a member of the ISH, please complete the downloadable Application Form. Applications must also be accompanied by:

A written statement by two members of the Society (names of regional/national members can be provided by the Secretariat) as to the qualifications of the nominee, and;
A list of the nominee’s academic degrees, professional positions, and a list of five best and five most recent publications relating to hypertension or allied fields

Nominations are initially considered by the Membership Committee and ultimately approved by the Society at its biennial scientific meetings.

FREE ONLINE ACCESS - JOURNAL OF HYPERTENSION

We are delighted to confirm that from 2006, those new members joining the ISH who permanently reside and work in one of the resource poor countries, zones and territories defined by HINARI as Band 1 and Band 2, and are not employed in a non-HINARI country are eligible for free online access of the Journal of Hypertension. Please click here to download the list of countries.

From August 2007, those new members joining the Society from South Africa are also eligible for free online access of the Journal of Hypertension.

New members eligible to receive free online Journal access will only need to pay the annual ISH membership fee (currently $40) and will need to apply for membership as detailed above.
