The Stevo Julius Award, supported by Novartis

Criteria: This award will be given to a person or persons demonstrating exceptional and continuous commitment to the dissemination of information, knowledge and skills in the field of hypertension to:
(a) general public;
(b) medical community;
(c) specialists in the hypertension field, and;
(d) to investigators involved in hypertension research.
Eligibility: Must be a member of the ISH or be willing to join
the Society following award. Previous winners of any senior award are not eligible for
nomination a second time.
Officers of the Scientific Council of the ISH and members
of the ISH Awards Committee are not eligible to be nominated. Exceptionally, other
members of the ISH Council may be eligible.
The ISH 2010 Stevo Julius Award will be presented at an Awards Ceremony and
Presidential Lecture during its 23rd Biennial scientific meeting
in Vancouver.

Venue: Vancouver Convention Centre
New for 2010, the
ISH Presidential Lecture
will be given, not by the ISH President, but by Dr. Gary Owens,
Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics, University of Virginia
Health Sciences Center, Charlottesville. USA and is entitled Epigenetic
Control of Smooth Muscle Cell Differentiation and Phenotypic Plasticity in Cardiovascular
Disease.
